About Me
My name is Jonathan Cranfill, and I'm currently in the middle of my junior year, working towards getting a Bachelors of Fine Arts at Texas Tech. I am based out of Dallas, TX, but would like to extend my design experience to places outside of Texas, as I plan on moving out of college. I think this internship would allow me to show what I have to offer in a professional setting. This would also show me the lifestyle of living in a different area, and if it’s a right fit for me pretty soon in the future. I have experience in the NCAA, NBA, franchises, and big companies like Realpage inc, all while going to school in Lubbock, TX. I have been in the Graphic Design field, professionally and personally, for about six years now, in jobs most don’t get until they graduate. I’ve won many design competitions in Frisco, TX, as well as here in Lubbock. Most recently, I was awarded first place in a Texas-wide Design competition, inviting people from all over the state, although it was hosted in Lubbock. College students came together to compete in the 2019 Hub City Student Advertising Competition on Nov. 1, where we developed and pitched a creative campaign for University Medical Center (UMC).
I started my current Job with the Texas Tech Athletics office on August of 2018, working with the Senior Designer and the Marketing Director, along with individual players, to create engaging designs for our students and fans. The designs include T-Shirts, posters, billboards, logos, and complete rebrands for individual sports. I also work closely with the Under Armour representatives, given we work with them exclusively. I was introduced to Sports design when I interned for the Texas Legends, learning more about the industry and developing skills I use in day-to-day life. For Franchise and corporate experience, however, I spent a summer at the Mooyah Corporate office, designing Billboards, posters, spreadsheets, business cards, emails, and whatever else they needed. There, I worked with one other designer to help rebrand their designs, and update their menus worldwide. I also worked under Anthony Massa (Vice President of marketing) and Scott Davies (Chief Marketing Officer) at Realpage in Richardson, TX. Here, I pushed creative initiatives, marketed campaigns, designed internally and externally for the workers and customers. Every one of these jobs, except for MOOYAH, has involved photoshoots and TV advertisements, giving me first-hand experience in directing/staging media for the entertainment industry. I'm certified in the Creative Suite, working with Photoshop for the past 6 years and InDesign/Illustrator for the past 4. I also have proficient experience in Dreamweaver (HTML and CSS), After Effects, Sketch, and Maya Autodesk. I have worked with UI/UX, engaging in code that is compatible with responsive design. I hope you'll find my work interesting, as I make it part of my job to engage the viewer in whatever I make for them to see.
